MARLEY ETERNIT MCS Accredited BIPV Roofing Systems

As part of its commitment to providing innovative roofing solutions, roofing and cladding manufacturer Marley Eternit offers a full range of MCS accredited building-integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) roofing systems. The Solesia range, includes BIPV solutions for Marley Eternitís Modern and Duo Modern range of concrete interlocking tiles and the Domino range of clay interlocking tiles

Marley Eternitís range of Solesia PV systems is straightforward to install, providing the roof owner with renewable, cheap electricity that can reduce CO2 emissions by up to one tonne per year. Importantly, all parts of the system are MCS (Micro generation certificate scheme) accredited, making it eligible for the governmentís feed-in tariff scheme.

Sarah Harding, marketing manager at Marley Eternit, comments:
ďThe MCS accreditation means that householders can get the full benefits of a photovoltaic system Ė getting both the reduction on energy bills that generating your own electricity brings, as well as additional payments for generating and exporting electricity back to the grid.

ďThe UK has the highest proportion of solar-suitable roofs in Europe but, so far, one of the lowest take-ups. Our Solesia range gives the specifier the potential to incorporate PV into roofs seamlessly and without compromising design or performance. Although ideal for new build projects the systemís flexibility makes it suitable for retrofit.Ē

Specifiers and self-builders will also benefit from the contribution that renewable energy systems, such as Solesia PV, can make towards higher point scores and therefore better code levels in the Code for Sustainable Homes. Whereas for non-domestic buildings, the system helps specifiers to achieve higher BREEAM ratings.
