COOPER LIGHTING & SAFETY To Unveil New Low-Energy Luminaires

Cooper Lighting and Safety, a business unit of Cooper Safety, will be using the forthcoming LuxLive exhibition to launch a number of new energy-efficient luminaires for use in mains lighting and emergency lighting schemes.

While LED luminaires will feature heavily among the new product introductions, there will also be some new fluorescent luminaires, reflecting the fact that there are still many applications for which this established technology offers a more appropriate solution.

One example is a new version of Cooper’s Linergy luminaire, which provides a T5 fluorescent alternative to the discharge luminaires that were traditionally used for high-bay and low-bay lighting. Having been re-engineered to enhance its efficiency and downward light output ratio (DLOR), Linergy II is available in 4 x 73W or 4 x 49W models and can be supplied with an optional IP20 clear panel.

For maximum energy savings, the luminaire can also be specified with integral lighting controls, consisting of a high-level PIR detector for occupancy detection and a built-in photocell for daylight harvesting. The choice of control gear includes standard high-frequency, as well as DALI digital dimming options.

A new recessed T5 fluorescent luminaire will also be introduced, with a choice of flush and semi-recessed high-efficiency optics delivering direct and indirect light. Emergency output will be supplied via a discreet LED with purpose-designed lens, delivering superb optical spacing and distribution.

Foremost among the new LED introductions will be an emergency luminaire sealed to IP65 to prevent the ingress of dirt or moisture and a new high-efficiency recessed LED downlight, available in two sizes and a number of lumen output options.
