VELTA UK - Bowled Over At Velta’s Lord’s Event

Huddersfield based velta, the UK’s leading surface heating and cooling solutions provider, was delighted after its second Sustainable Design and Construction Forum, held at Lord’s cricket ground last month, was a great success.

After holding its inaugural Forum last September, this second event, in association with Hanson Building Products, Stuarts Industrial Flooring and Creagh Concrete and sponsored by Project Sales Achiever, attracted a bigger audience with some high profile industry guests in attendance.

Over 100 delegates from consultants to engineers and architects from well known international organisations across the construction and engineering industries, attended this key UK event, with people travelling from as far as Spain and Sweden. velta’s Forum is unique within the industry as it is dedicated to professionals in the commercial, residential and industrial buildings market.

After most of the delegates took in a tour of the historic Lord’s ground and a networking lunch, the Forum, which has become an annual meeting point for industry leading experts, specialists, government bodies, partnerships and associations, got underway.

With speakers such as Professor Bjarne Olesen from the University of Denmark and Professor Doug King of King Shaw Associates taking to the stage, the event provided building owners, managers, architects, contractors, consultants and M&E engineers with the latest knowledge in the development of TABS (Thermo Active Building Systems), including renovation solutions for the cooling and heating of offices.

Sustainability and energy efficiency are important factors within the construction industry due to pressure from the public as well as from politicians to ensure the buildings of the future fit in with the ‘green’ agenda. As velta’s TABS allow existing energy to be utilised to provide environmentally friendly heating and cooling, many development schemes are using it as the system of choice for projects both in the UK and internationally.

Gerald Kemp, Managing Director at velta, commented: “Both of our Forums have been very successful and we are delighted that so many key people within the industry attended the events.”
