BRITISH GYPSUM - Beautiful Acoustics Showcased At Surface Design Show

British Gypsum is to showcase its stunning range of acoustic ceiling solutions at this year’s Surface Design Show, held from 15-17 February at the Business Design Centre in Islington. The stand will focus on British Gypsum’s Beautiful Acoustic product range, combining high performance with stunning style. The company will also be unveiling several new extensions to the range.

The stand will showcase the company’s range of ceiling tiles, planks and board systems, all of which offer superior durability, technical performance and environmental benefits. In addition practical access systems ideally suited for use by facilities maintenance and electrical personnel will be displayed on stand.

Experts from British Gypsum will be on hand to provide technical advice on its three ceiling ranges; Gyprex, specially developed for environments where hygiene and cleanliness are essential; Gyptone, ideal for areas where visual appearance and performance are equally important and Rigitone, a flexible system which can be seamless jointed, eliminating the traditional grid appearance.

Ideal for use in schools, high rise housing and healthcare environments, as well as office and retail premises, British Gypsum ceiling systems achieve performance levels up to class B sound absorption, meeting the demands of BB93, Building Regulations Approved Document E and HTM 08-01.

Manufactured from natural gypsum, the products offer inherent environmental and safety benefits. Their high moisture resistance means they are less vulnerable to unsightly staining and can be redecorated without compromising the acoustic performance. In addition, the products are 100 per cent recyclable via British Gypsum’s Plasterboard Recycling Service.

Wayne Kensett, senior product manager – acoustic ceilings, comments: “Noise has a fundamental affect on the way we can use our buildings and choosing the right acoustic insulation materials, which also meet the desired aesthetic requirements, is a crucial part of any building design.

“British Gypsum’s Beautiful Acoustic ceilings range combines the best of acoustic performance with stylish design and sustainability, offering a variety of solutions to suit any building’s requirements. We are excited to be showcasing several new product line extensions at this year’s Surface Design Show and are committed to continually developing our range of acoustic ceiling systems to meet the markets varying needs.”

New to the range for 2011 will be Gyptone AccessHatch TRAP, an acoustic performing swing-down access service, as well as an extended range of tile, planks and boards in a variety of patterns and acoustic fleece options. All have been created to provide architects and designers with stylish yet practical access systems, without compromising on performance.
