Profile Lighting Services are the latest company to agree terms on a
12,500 sq ft new-build unit at Raynham Road Industrial Estate in
Profile Lighting is already housed on Raynham Road in separate buildings at the Links Business Centre. They have been located on the Estate since February 1988 when they commenced trading and are pleased to be continuing to support the local economy with its good location and source of high calibre employees. Tony Philpot, Profile’s Managing Director, sees the move to new premises as an opportunity to amalgamate their existing business. “We have for some time been thinking about premises in the locality to house our business under one roof. The developers and agents have come up with the right building that fulfils our needs and gives us the flexibility to take our business forward. We are looking forward to occupying our new premises and future expansion of our activities in 2011.”
The Raynham Road Estate, owned by the Howard Group for the past 9 years, is undergoing a major redevelopment programme. The Cambridge based property group, leading commercial property developers and investors in East Anglia, is driving forward its development plans for the region. The commercial property market is only showing brief signs of recovery from last year’s low, but the Group is confident that the market will improve and has been rewarded by the fact that over 50% of space for their Phase 1 redevelopment of the Raynham Road scheme is now let.
Some 38,000 sq ft of industrial units are under construction with the latest let agreed with Profile Lighting on Unit 3. In spring 2010, Edmundson Electrical agreed a 15 year lease on Unit 1, totalling 5,565 sq ft, and is currently fitting-out ready for trading in the coming months.
The remaining units are being marketed by agents Savills and King Sturge. Phillip Ridoutt, Associate Director at Savills Commercial Agency in Cambridge, commented: “These recent lettings are clear evidence that regardless of the economic climate, commercial occupiers have an ongoing appetite for well designed buildings in prime strategic locations suitable for their long term space requirements.”
Completion of the Phase 1 scheme is scheduled for the first quarter of 2011 and forms part of a wider £7m redevelopment programme for the Estate.
